Warhorse Studios and Deep Silver have finally announced Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, the sequel to the popular 2018 RPG known for its realistic medieval world.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 continues to follow the story of Henry, portrayed again by Tom McKay. Henry seeks revenge after the murder of his family. Warhorse claims this sequel will feature over five hours of cutscenes and an open world twice the size of the original.
The first-person sword combat from the original returns, with the positioning of strikes and blocks crucial. There are also new crossbow and firearm weapons for ranged combat. Players have various choices in shaping Henry through dialogue and gameplay. The game and NPCs will remember player actions, so expect challenges if you gain a reputation as a thief.
The game features a photo mode for capturing in-game screenshots of the CryEngine-powered medieval Bohemian landscapes and the city of Kuttenburg. Jan Volta returns as the game’s composer with a beautiful orchestral soundtrack.
Daniel Vávra, Warhorse Studios’ founder, returns as creative director despite past criticism for his Gamergate support. He claims to have collaborated with 250 developers over six years to create “the ultimate medieval RPG adventure.”
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will be released for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S later in 2024.
