In Spider-Man 2, there is no doubt that Peter Parker and Miles Morales are heroes. However, in order to prove their hero status, they need to earn Hero Tokens. These tokens are conceptual objects rather than actual tokens, but they are still necessary for higher-level upgrades and unlocks for their tools in the game. Not every heroic action will earn you Hero Tokens, so it’s important to know the activities that can help you collect as many as possible.
One of the most efficient ways to earn Hero Tokens is through the Mysteriums. These unlock after you meet Mysterio in the story and can be found throughout the map. There are a total of 10 Mysteriums, each consisting of time trials that rank you based on your completion time. If you earn a gold rank, you will receive two Hero Tokens, while silver and bronze ranks will award you with one token. Mastering these time trials can be challenging, but if you can achieve a gold rank in one or two attempts, it is the fastest method to earn Hero Tokens. Additionally, when you earn a gold rank, you also receive the rewards for the two ranks below, making each Mysterium worth four tokens.
Two side quests, The Flame and Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (FNSM), also offer Hero Tokens as rewards. Completing each of these quests will grant you two Hero Tokens. The length of these quests may vary, but they should not take more than 15 minutes at most.
Some Hunter Bases in the game also reward you with Hero Tokens. Not all Hunter Bases provide this reward, so make sure to highlight them on the map beforehand to see the specific base’s rewards. These challenges involve combat or stealth and should not pose too much trouble for skilled players.
By utilizing the Mysteriums, completing side quests, and tackling Hunter Bases, you can collect a substantial number of Hero Tokens in Spider-Man 2. So get out there and prove your hero status by earning these valuable tokens for upgrades and unlocks in the game.
