Rocksteady Studios, the developers behind the highly anticipated game Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, recently released the first episode of a new Insider video series. In this video, they provided fans with an in-depth look at the game’s core narrative and gameplay elements.
One of the highlights revealed in the Insider video is that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League takes place in a larger city compared to Rocksteady’s previous game, Batman: Arkham Knight. This means players can expect a more expansive and immersive environment to explore.
Additionally, the developers mentioned that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will feature the most cutscenes out of any game they’ve made. This suggests that the game will offer a rich and cinematic storytelling experience.
Unlike the dark and brooding atmosphere of the Arkham games, Rocksteady aimed for a more frantic tone that matches the spirit of the Suicide Squad. The video showcased a segment set in the Hall of Justice, where the four members of the Suicide Squad embark on a mission to steal unique tools that they will use throughout the game. One of these tools is the Speedforce Gauntlet, which Captain Boomerang decides to wield.
The Suicide Squad’s adventure takes them into Metropolis, which has been overtaken by the villainous Brainiac. During their journey, they encounter a corrupted Green Lantern for the first time. The video also previews their visit to The Penguin’s secret arms-dealing hideout.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is shaping up to be a fast-paced third-person shooter. The Insider video showcased each character’s unique traversal abilities and combat skills. Players will need to keep moving to survive and succeed in their missions.
Although this Insider video focused primarily on the game’s narrative and gameplay, it’s important to note that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is still expected to be a live service game. Game Director Axel Rydby hinted at future Insider episodes that will cover how Rocksteady plans to support the game and its players with a substantial amount of free content post-launch.
The video also revealed a battle pass token pre-order bonus, suggesting that the game could have up to four post-launch seasons of content. However, it’s worth mentioning that WB Games reserves the right to modify or discontinue online services with reasonable notice at any time.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is set to launch on February 2, 2024, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
